Young Gemini & the Location Crew Steal the Spotlight

Young Gemini & the Location Crew Steal the Spotlight

BY RiRi

Who would’ve thought we’d witness Zim Hip Hop take over like it has this year? The genre is rising like never before, and it’s such a beautiful thing to see.

As a die-hard riddims fan myself, I can’t lie—this year’s movement has me believing! (Bvumai kutongwa nema salad guys,!)

But let me get straight to it—my favourite moment from the Zim Hip Hop Awards (ZHHA) nominations? Hands down, it’s when they announced Young Gemini and the ladies (Kim Makumbe, Xiba, Tamy Moyo, Nomsa, Phreshy) she teamed up with on Location.

A nomination for that fire track? Absolutely deserved.

The moment was so sweet, I almost teared up. Why not celebrate it? The girls really put something on that record.

First off, a huge shoutout to the ZHHA organisers. Thank you for recognizing such a dynamic collaboration. Ignore what people are saying—this newbie is impressed!

Now let’s talk about Young Gemini. Sis deserves her flowers, like, yesterday.

Not only did she kill it on Location, but she also gave upcoming female artists a platform to shine alongside her.

That’s what you call a real boss move.

It’s rare to see artists in their prime willingly share the spotlight, and Young Gemini did it with grace.

Location is one of those tracks that sneaks up on you—it might not hit you at first, but give it one careful listen, and you’ll be hooked.

The vibes are unmatched, and the chemistry between the artists? Next level.

Let’s not forget Tammy Moyo, the Queen herself. For someone as big as Tamy to humble herself and jump on a track with rising stars?

That’s pure class. It speaks volumes about her character and star power.

Tammy didn’t need to overshadow anyone—she simply added her magic touch to the mix.

I mean, how often do we see women in music genuinely collaborating like this?

And then there’s Nomsa.

Let me confess: I only checked out Location after I saw her TikTok about being on the track.

And wow, she delivered! For someone we know as a TikTok sensation with hilarious, carefree videos, Nomsa showed she’s more than just funny—she’s seriously talented.

She’s the type of artist who will make you laugh, shock you, inspire you, and then have you asking, “Does she even care about social media trolls?”

Her free spirit is contagious, and now that she’s stepping into music, I can’t wait to see what else she has in store.

This year’s ZHHA nominations are proof that Zim Hip Hop is levelling up. Women in the game are stepping out, stepping up, and owning their shine.

And honestly? It’s about time.

Let’s give Young Gemini, Nomsa, Tamy, and all the girlies their flowers now because they’re not playing around—they’re here to stay.

So, congrats to everyone nominated alongside Location. But let’s be real, this track is a moment.
