Shebeen Fest: The Shorts and Cooler Edition You Don’t Want to Miss!
Harare’s hottest monthly hip hop installment, Shebeen Fest, is back—and this time it’s the Shorts and Cooler edition.
The event, spearheaded by Shebeen Rap pioneers Dough Major and Dingo Duke, has quickly become a staple for hip hop lovers across the capital. If you’ve been missing out, now’s your chance to catch up and soak in the vibes.
Started as a way to bring people together for merrymaking—true to the shebeen lifestyle—the festival is now onto its sixth installment. And it’s no small affair!
Heavyweights like Kae Chaps, DJ Tamuka, Asaph, Probeatz and Nutty O are set to share the stage with some of the freshest talent in Zimbabwe’s hip hop scene. For those in the know, Shebeen Fest has moved from Little Farm to the ever-vibrant Moto Republik, a true hub for ZimHipHop culture.
When we caught up with Dough Major recently, he had this to say about the festival’s mission: "We’re giving hip hop a home here. It’s not just about performances; it’s about helping the next wave of artists find their stage."
As supporters of local hip hop at Riddims and Raps, we’re proud to see how Shebeen Fest is keeping the culture alive and kicking. So grab your shorts, pack your cooler, and don’t forget to bring a friend. See you there!
