From Humble Beginnings to National Recognition, Uchiha The Empire Clan's Journey Takes Off
Uchiha The Empire Clan, founded by Andre Fundreezy in 2015, has risen to become a dominant force in Zimbabwe's hip-hop scene. Inspired by legendary acts like DMX and Wu-Tang Clan, the group has evolved from a solo project to a collective of talented artists.
The current lineup includes Double Jae (Gemini), Sanchez Mabarz, KingUc, CarTTer, Scorpion King, and Mecx Phili. With notable performances at events like Carnival courtesy of Chitsuwa and Frabik Party, Uchiha has also embarked on multiple Ghetto to Ghetto tours, culminating in City to City tours that have taken them to Mutare and the capital. Their impressive resume includes nominations for ZHHA 2019 and 2020 Best Group, with a win at MBU Hip Hop Awards. Founding member Fundreezy was crowned Hip Hop Icon, while Sanchez and Double Jae secured Best Male and Song of the Year awards in 2023. Despite their success, Uchiha continues to hustle, seeking performing slots to sustain their craft. They have collaborated with promoters Team Legacy and Prezzo and made their mark in the Bars on Bars rap league at Moto Republik.
Their recording sanctuary, Ghostship studios, is where they craft their fire lines. King Uc's charisma has earned him the people's favorite tag, bringing real life to the beats. As the Zimbabwean hip-hop scene flourishes, Uchiha The Empire Clan emphasizes the need for investment in the culture to survive the challenging economy. With some sacrifices, they balance their passion and hustle. Exciting joint projects with prominent artist-promoter Noble Stylz are set to drop in July.
